I'm actually using that exact keyboard/trackpad for the HTPC. But that does then take up one of the 3 USB ports if you need other controllers/peripherals plugged in as well. The other option, of course, is to move the dongle from PC to the Link and not worry about pairing and cycling pairs. That lets you cycle through paired devices. Then you can change between syncing to the Link and back to the dongle on your PC by pressing and holding A while the controller is off, then while holding A turn the controller on. It will even act like an Xbox or Playstation controller on their own systems, able to turn the Steam Link on when you hit the Steam button on the controller. It should sync up to the Link/BPM from there. Press and hold X on the Steam Controller, then while holding X turn it on, that puts it into pairing mode. Turn you Steam Controller off, tell BPM (or Link) to add a controller and it will go into searching mode, looking for a wireless connection. There must be a way in the Steam Link settings similar to Big Picture Mode's controller add/test screen. It works without the dongle, though how to pair it to the Steam Link if you've already paired it to a dongle, I don't know. For some godforsaken reason they decided not to include the $1.50 wireless dongle as a part of the Link proper. Should the steam controller work w/ the steam link w/o using the dongle? i can't seem to get mine to connect properly w/o using the dongle. I'm not super familiar with Bluetooth peripherals-is that only required when there's no Bluetooth hardware in the PC or whatever (in this case, I know there's such hardware in the Link, so no adapter needed)? It mentions an adapter (I presume you'd plug it into a USB port). Would something like this Logitech work?. The only thing I worry about is compatibility with the Link and its software. On the other OTHER hand, a physical keyboard sure seems like it would be nicer to type or hit keys on. On the other hand, I'm hoping Valve will support it, and if a good wireless keyboard with trackpad is going to cost anywhere near 50 bucks then I might as well buy it. The Steam Controller (if you have one) should now stay in desktop/keyboard & mouse mode until the game is loaded, so you can click through launchers, but any other controller won't, unfortunately, so you'll need either a keyboard & mouse or get a small wireless keyboard with a trackpad on it that you can use when needed. Yeah launchers will still need mouse & keyboard to get past them.
